UNIGE and Senegalese Ministry of water and sanitation sign MoU

The Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace - co-convened by 15 countries – recommends to setting-up a Global observatory on water and peace (GOWP), a network of partners with strong analytical capacities as well as skills to develop new ways to strengthen water diplomacy

A memorandum of understanding has just been signed by his excellency The Minister of water and sanitation of Senegal, Mr Serigne Mbaye Thiam and the University of Geneva Rector, Prof Yves Flückiger, to set the base for collaboration between the Geneva Water Hub and the Pôle Eau Dakar as well as to anchor this Global observatory on water and peace at the West African regional level.

The Pôle eau Dakar will soon be certified « Initiative Dakar 2021 » on the context of the 9th World Water Forum, which will take place in Dakar, Senegal, between 21-26 March 2022. Such label aims at collecting, supporting and showcasing projects from around the world that create real economic, social and environmental impact on the lives of populations.
