World Water Day 2017 - Lake Prespa Ecosystem Revival Panel Discussion

22.03.2017 World Water Day 2017 - Lake Prespa Ecosystem Revival Panel Discussion
On the occasion of World water Day, marked on 22 March every year, the Geneva Water Hub will take part in a panel after the screening of the documentary "Lake of Apples" chronicling the ecosystem revival of Lake Prespa in FYR Macedonia.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project has helped reverse pollution in one of the oldest freshwater ecosystems on Earth. As a result, water quality has improved and indigenous fish species have recovered. The 80% of residents, who depend on apple farming, are now benefiting from new agricultural methods that have reduced costs and increased yields.

This event will take place on Wednesday 22 March 2017, between 9:45 to 12:00 at the International Environment House in Geneva. It is open to the public but registration is required at www.genevaenvironmentnetwork.org/?q=en/lake-prespa-conservation-event-registration
