Expert voices on water and peace, from Geneva to Dakar.

On the occasion of the the High-Level Preparatory Meeting for the 2026 UN Water Conference in Dakar, colleagues from the Geneva Water Hub were featured on Senegalese national television to share perspectives on water cooperation and peacebuilding.

Mark Zeitoun, Director of the Geneva Water Hub, and Jean Willemin highlighted how water can act not only as a source of tension, but also as a powerful lever for dialogue, trust, and stability—particularly in fragile and transboundary contexts.

These media interventions echo the growing momentum around international water diplomacy, as the global community prepares for the 2026 Water Conference in Abu Dhabi, where cooperation, governance, and peace will be central themes.
