Call for contributions: African water resources law
The Geneva Water Hub, École régionale de l’eau, the Faculté de droit de l’Université de Genève and the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN) are launching a call for contributions for a collective work on African water resources law.
This publishing project aims to provide an in-depth, multidisciplinary, and forward-looking analysis of the legal frameworks governing water resource management in Africa. It will address, in particular, the challenges related to water governance, transboundary cooperation, conflict prevention, human rights, the effects of climate change, major hydraulic infrastructure, and the protection of aquatic ecosystems.
The book aims to contribute to strengthening a structured and operational African legal doctrine, relevant to the continent's contemporary challenges. Particular attention will be paid to regional contexts, especially in West Africa, where issues related to transboundary basins, water security, and regional stability are particularly sensitive.
This call for papers is addressed to researchers, academics, legal professionals, practitioners, and experts in public water policy who wish to propose an original chapter on one of the themes covered in the book.
The project is coordinated by François Bokona, Mutoy Mubiala, and Mara Tignino.
