“Water: a vector of peace in the Sahel” – Call for contributions
The international conference "Water: A Vector of Peace in the Sahel" will be held from September 22 to 24, 2025, at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (UCAD), Senegal. This event invites researchers and practitioners to submit papers exploring the role of water as a vector of peace, resilience, and cooperation in a region facing climate, security, and development crises.
Organized by a consortium of universities and international organizations, the conference emphasizes the importance of inclusive water governance, the protection of community rights, and the development of Afro-centric hydro-diplomacy. Selected papers may be published, and travel expenses may be covered for participants from the Sahel and West Africa.
