As pressures on water resources intensify across regions, the ability to prevent and reconcile competing demands is becoming a central challenge for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers alike.

On 15 April 2026, our Scientific Director Mara Tignino will contribute to the IWRA Webinar Series (Part 2/4) on:
"Water Cooperation: Prevent and reconcile conflicts between competing water demands."

Organised by the International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and UNESCO IHP, this session brings together global experts to explore how cooperation frameworks, legal tools, and science can help manage tensions and support peace.

At the Geneva Water Hub, a Centre of Competence on Water for Peace, this is precisely where we position our work, at the intersection of water, law, and diplomacy, supporting dialogue in complex and often fragile contexts.
From transboundary basins to conflict-affected regions, strengthening cooperation is not just technical, it is deeply political, and essential to long-term peace.
