4th UN Special Thematic Session on Water and Disasters - 13th Meeting of the High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP)

Prof. Danilo Türk presented the experience of the Geneva Water Hub in the follow up to the publication of the report of the Global High Level Panel on Water and Peace “A Matter of Survival”. He emphasized the importance of data sharing related to the climate change and closer cooperation for prevention of water disasters and mitigation of their effects. He elaborated on the financial mechanisms to be developed and on the need to strengthen water diplomacy with the aim to provide “safe space” for the preparation of transboundary water projects.
