Ahead of the UN Water Conference (8–10 December 2026, Abu Dhabi), the Africa 21 Association is launching a special series of six broadcasts dedicated to water issues in Africa, reaching 1,200+ journalists across 47 African countries through the Network of African Journalists Specialized in Sustainable Development and Climate Change.

The ambition: equip journalists with the knowledge, data and contacts to produce content that is accessible, rigorous and useful to African audiences.

The Geneva Water Hub is proud to contribute by linking the discussions to the recommendations of our Policy Brief "Flowing Towards Peace".

About Session 2

In fragile and displacement-affected regions, water is both a lifeline and a potential source of tension. This session explores how to protect water during and after conflict, guarantee access for displaced and host communities, and prevent any weaponization of water resources.
