Christopher Sneddon is chair in geography and a professor of geography and environmental studies at Dartmouth College, whose research and teaching focus on the question of how to reconcile human activities with the long-term resilience and vulnerability of ecological systems. Christopher contributed to the understanding of the transformation of river basins due to large-scale development in “third world” settings but also in a variety of historical and geographical contexts. He won the prestigious 2016 Meridian Book Award, presented by the Association of American Geographers (AAG) for Concrete Revolution: Large Dams, Cold War Geopolitics and the US Bureau of Reclamation, a book that is as much revelation as revolution.

Dams as technopolitical objects: Global Geopolitics and the transformation of the Mekong Basin.
