This meeting will be a milestone for reviewing and accelerating progress towards achieving SDG target 6.5, discussing challenges and good practices related to transboundary water cooperation and the role of the Convention.

This event will present and assess the wide array of rules and frameworks applicable to water infrastructure such as large dams in transboundary basins. It will also discuss how legal and institutional mechanisms may help to achieve an acceptable balance among the various interests of those who may benefit from, or be impacted by large water infrastructure.
