9:30-17:30 (Tallinn time, EEST, GMT+3)

2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the UNECE Water Convention, which was adopted in Helsinki in 1992. For 30 years, the UNECE Water Convention has been supporting basins and countries worldwide fostering transboundary water cooperation. The achievements of the Convention will be marked by this event in Tallinn, Estonia, and a publication showcasing the Convention’s benefits for people, economies, the environment and peace.

The anniversary event, organized by the Ministry of the Environment of Estonia and UNECE, in cooperation with Finland, in an interactive format, will review achievements and lessons learned in the last thirty years under the Convention, as well as discuss future challenges and how the Convention can help to address them.
